NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Sealed bids will be received by the Director of Finance on behalf of the Aberdeen School District #6-1, Brown County, South Dakota, at the District Service Center, 1224 South Third Street, Aberdeen, South Dakota 57401, for the Simmons Elementary Admin HVAC Improvements project until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. The bid letting will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, in the Conference Room at the Aberdeen School District Service Center. A recommended pre-bid meeting will be held at the Simmons Elementary School, 1500 S 3rd St, Aberdeen, SD 57401, on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. local time.
Copies of the specifications are on file in the Operational Services Office, District Service Center, 1224 South Third Street, Aberdeen, SD, and at the engineer’s office of Element Consulting Engineers, 221 6th Ave SE, Suite 3, Aberdeen, SD 57401. Copies may be obtained from the engineer’s office by bidders. Technical questions shall also be directed to the office of Element Consulting Engineers, Aberdeen, SD at 605-225-4344.
Bid proposals shall be submitted to the Aberdeen School Board in sealed envelopes clearly marked: “Bid for Simmons Elementary Admin HVAC Improvements to be opened Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.” Faxed bids will not be accepted; however, faxed bid adjustments will be accepted until the time of bid opening. Fax adjustments to 605-725-7198. Faxed adjustments must be followed up with a signed hard copy mailed to Aberdeen School’s District Service Center – Attn: Ben Schnell.
One combined bid will be accepted – All Mechanical, Electrical, General, labor and material required to provide a complete project.
No bidder may withdraw a bid for 30 days following the bid opening without a written request explaining the cause of the withdrawal and without written consent of the Owner after reviewing the cause.
Liquidated damages shall be in effect for this project. See Bid Form and Instruction to Bidders for details.
Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier’s check or draft in the amount of 5% of the base bid plus all add alternates, or a 10% bid bond issued by a surety authorized to do business in the State of South Dakota and made payable to the “Aberdeen School District #6-1, Aberdeen, South Dakota”.
The Aberdeen School Board reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities therein.
