BROWN COUNTY JUNE 5, 2026 MINUTES

CANVASS OF JUNE 2, 2026 PRIMARY ELECTION

Brown County Commissioners Chairman Duane Sutton, Mike Gage, Drew Dennert, Kyler Dinger and Mike Wiese convened for the purpose of canvassing the June 2, 2026 Primary Election, as authorized by SDCL 12-20-36 at 1:00 p.m. on June 5, 2026 in the Commissioner’s Chambers, Courthouse Annex, Brown County, SD.

Moved by Commissioner Dennert, seconded by Wiese to approve the Official Canvass, as follows:  (Note: There was 1 provisional ballot, and it is included in these totals)

POST-ELECTION DRAW: Chairman Sutton drew VC-11 – Frederick, which only had 83 ballots cast, so Vice-Chairman Gage drew VC-5 – Westport, which had 87 ballots cast. Commissioner Dennert drew for the Statewide race, which will be United State Representative race. Commissioner Wiese drew Delegates to the State Convention for the Local race.  The Post Election Audit will be on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.

ADJOURNMENT: Moved by Commissioner Dinger, seconded Wiese by to adjourn the Canvass Meeting for the June 2, 2026 Primary Election.  All members present voting aye.  Motion carried.
