ABERDEEN CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION
City Council Chambers, 123 South Lincoln Street, Municipal Building, Aberdeen, South Dakota, May 26, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., work session meeting of the City Council.
CALL TO ORDER
MEETING ROLL CALL
Present at roll call were City Council Members Rob Ronayne via teleconference, Erin Fouberg, Charlotte Liebelt, Rich Ward, Alan Johnson, Talmage Ekanger, Chad Nilson, David Novstrup, and Mayor Travis Schaunaman.
City Staff present were Dave McNeil, Ron Wager, Ken Hubbart, Tanner Jondahl, Destin Spellman, and Cathy McNickle.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Mayor Schaunaman led the Pledge of Allegiance.
PRESENTATION BY SD DOT REGARDING THE BRIDGE RECONSTRUCTION ON HWY 12 OVER MOCCASIN CREEK
SDDOT Aberdeen Region Engineer Mark Peterson presented the bridge reconstruction on HWY 12 over Moccasin Creek. Discussion included bridge design, road closures and alternate routes.
OTHER MATTERS
Discussion covered House Bill 1245 and Senate Bill 135 (“Data Center Bill of Rights for Citizens”), led by City Manager McNeil.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, motion by Ward, second by Nilson, to adjourn the meeting. Voice vote to adjourn, all present voting aye, motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 5:13 p.m.
