NOTICE OF 9/8/25 CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

City Council Chambers, 123 South Lincoln Street, Municipal Building, Aberdeen, South Dakota, September 8, 2025, at 5:30 p.m., regular meeting of the City Council.

CALL TO ORDER

MEETING ROLL CALL

Present at roll call were City Council Members Rob Ronayne via teleconference, Erin Fouberg, Charlotte Liebelt, Rich Ward, Alan Johnson, Talmage Ekanger, Chad Nilson, David Novstrup, and Mayor Travis Schaunaman.

City Staff present were Robin Bobzien, Ron Wager, Stuart Nelson, Ken Hubbart, Joel Weig, Dave McNeil, Cathy McNickle, Destin Spellman, Steven Thithavong, and Jordan McQuillen.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Mayor Schaunaman led the Pledge of Allegiance.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA

Motion by Fouberg, second by Ward, to approve the agenda. Voice vote to approve, all present voting aye, motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS

PRESENTATION OF CONCEPT AND COST ESTIMATE FOR 2-WAY MAIN STREET PROJECT

Mayor Schaunaman and City Manager Bobzien provided an overview of the history and supporting research behind the 2-way Main Street project. City Engineer Nelson presented cost estimates and technical specifications for multiple design alternatives, outlining the differences in parking capacity, roadway configuration, traffic signal modifications, and associated costs for each proposed option.

DISCUSSION ON 2-WAY MAIN STREET PROJECT

The Council heard public comments related to the proposed project.

ADJOURNMENT

There being no further business, motion by Ward, second by Nilson, to adjourn the meeting. Voice vote to adjourn, all present voting aye, motion carried.  The meeting adjourned at 6:17 p.m.
