City of Aberdeen – Notice of Intention to Amend Council Handbook

CITY OF ABERDEEN

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO AMEND COUNCIL HANDBOOK

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to Article XXI of the Bylaws set forth in the Handbook of the Aberdeen City Council that on August 18, 2025, the City Council approved a motion declaring its intention to amend the Bylaws at the regular meeting on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.  The proposed amendment to the Council Handbook revises the Bylaws as follows:

  1. Article IX reflects voting to comply with state law.
  2. Article XIV reflects voting to comply with state law.
  3. Article XVII eliminates the secret ballot for filling a council vacancy to comply with state law.
  4. Article XIX reflects voting to comply with state law.
