RESOLUTION NO. 25-04-01R
RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE CITY OF ABERDEEN, SD SUBMITTING A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE LAND AND
WATER CONSERVATION FUND TO CONSTRUCT
A PLAYGROUND AT SUNSHINE PARK
WHEREAS, the United States of America and the State of South Dakota have authorized the making of grants from the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) to aid in financing the acquisition and/or construction of specific public outdoor recreation projects; and
WHEREAS, the City of Aberdeen has plans to construct a new playground at its municipal park known as Sunshine Park; and
WHEREAS, playground construction is an acceptable use under the grant requirements; and
WHEREAS, approved LWCF grants must be supported by at least a 50% local match.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the City of Aberdeen approves submitting an LWCF grant application to construct a playground at Sunshine Park and agrees to provide the necessary local matching funds.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the City Manager is authorized to sign and submit the grant application.
