NOTICE OF RESOLUTION NO. 25-08-01R
A RESOLUTION OF CONTINUED PARTICIPATION IN THE
ABERDEEN – BROWN COUNTY REGIONAL RAILROAD AUTHORITY
AND AUTHORIZING THE CHAIR TO SIGN THE
SECOND RESTATEMENT OF THE AGREEMENT ESTABLISHING THE
ABERDEEN – BROWN COUNTY REGIONAL RAILROAD AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, SDCL Chapter 49-17A authorizes the creation of regional railroad authorities; and
WHEREAS, the Aberdeen – Brown County Regional Railroad Authority was established in 1991 and restated in 2007, and membership currently includes the City of Aberdeen, Brown County, Edmunds County, Spink County, and Beadle County (collectively, the “Members”); and
WHEREAS, the Members in 2025 desire to amend and restate the Agreement by which the ABCRRA is organized and operated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the City of Aberdeen shall continue its membership in the ABCRRA in accordance with the Second Restatement of the Agreement Establishing the ABCRRA.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Councilman Rob Ronayne is hereby appointed as the Commissioner and Councilwoman Erin Fouberg is appointed as alternate Commissioner of the ABCRRA from the City of Aberdeen for a term of three (3) years.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor is authorized to sign the Second Restatement of Agreement evidencing the City of Aberdeen’s continued membership in the ABCRRA.
The foregoing Resolution was considered at a regular meeting of the City Council on the 25th day of August, 2025, and upon Roll Call vote the Resolution was adopted.
