NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Sealed bids will be received by the City Council of the City of Aberdeen, South Dakota, at the Office of the City Finance Officer, 123 South Lincoln Street, Aberdeen, South Dakota 57401, for Aberdeen City Water Treatment Plant Heat Exchanger Improvements until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. The bid letting will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at the in the 3rd floor conference room at Aberdeen City Hall, 123 S Lincoln St. A required pre-bid meeting will be held at the Aberdeen New Water Treatment Plant, 12668 391st Ave, Aberdeen, SD 57401, Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. local time.
Copies of the specifications are on file in the Office of the City Engineer, 123 South Lincoln Street, Aberdeen South Dakota, at the Aberdeen Water Treatment Plant, 12668 391st Ave, Aberdeen, SD 57401, and at the engineer’s office of Sichmeller Engineering, 801 Railroad Avenue SE, Aberdeen, SD 57401. Copies may be obtained from the engineer’s office by bidders. Bidding and technical questions shall also be directed to the office of Sichmeller Engineering, Aberdeen, SD at 605-225-4344.
Bid proposals shall be submitted to the City Council in sealed envelopes clearly marked: “Bid for Aberdeen City Water Treatment Plant Heat Exchanger Improvements to be opened Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.” Faxed bids will not be accepted; however, faxed bid adjustments will be accepted until the time of bid opening. Fax adjustments to 605-626-7014. Faxed adjustments must be followed up with a signed hard copy mailed to City Finance Officer, 123 South Lincoln Street, Aberdeen, South Dakota, 57401.
One combined bid will be accepted – All Mechanical, Electrical, General, labor and material required to provide a complete project.
No bidder may withdraw a bid for 30 days following the bid opening without a written request explaining the cause of the withdrawal and without written consent of the Owner after reviewing the cause.
Liquidated damages shall be in effect for this project. See Bid Form and Instruction to Bidders for details.
Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier’s check or draft in the amount of 5% of the base bid plus all add alternates, or a 10% bid bond issued by a surety authorized to do business in the State of South Dakota and made payable to the “City of Aberdeen, South Dakota”.
