Frederick’s town board meeting was held Wednesday, May 7, 2025 in the Frederick Community Center beginning at 7:00 PM. Attending the meeting were Chairman Scott Campbell, Board members Troy Millard and Marty Morlock and Finance Officer Jennifer Morlock and Assistant Finance Officer Mariah Heine.
Chairman Campbell opened the meeting and led in the Pledge of Allegiance.
The minutes of the April meeting was read and approved with a motion by Millard/Campbell; motion carried. The financial statements were reviewed and accepted with a motion by Kosters/Millard; motion carried. The May accounts payable were approved with a motion by Millard/Kosters; motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS
Campbell provided a utility report. There was discussion about beginning mosquito spraying services. The board reviewed the Brown County Sheriff’s Report. The board is looking at properties that are in violation of the ordinances and will be sending letters this spring about upkeep.
NEW BUSINESS
Marty Morlock read and signed his Oath of Office to accept his position on the board for a three-year term. The meeting was turned over to Assistant Finance Officer Mariah Heine. The nominations for Chairman were opened followed by a nomination of Campbell by Millard/Morlock as well as a nomination for Millard by Campbell/Morlock. Votes were counted with Campbell securing the chairman position. The meeting was turned over to Campbell. Motion to nominate the First National Bank of Frederick as the official financial institution made by Millard/Morlock; motion carried with Campbell abstaining. Motion to designate Aberdeen Insider as newspaper made by Campbell/Millard; motion carried. Motion to designate Kimberly Dorsett of Richardson Law Firm as city attorney made by Millard/Campbell; motion carried. Motion to approve the first reading of Ordinance # 2025-01 regarding placement and installation of wind towers made by Campbell/Morlock; motion carried. The second reading will be May 14th at 7PM. Motion to approve the quote from Jensen Rock and Sand to patch and seal cracks throughout the city’s roads in the amount of $8,439.47 made by Campbell/Millard; motion carried. Motion to offer Dave Losure the position of utility manager at a rate of $500 per month and $20/hour with the stipulation that pay will be increased upon certification of water testing made by Morlock/Millard; motion carried.
The next regular meeting will be Wednesday, June 4th at 7PM.
Motion to adjourn made by Morlock/Millard at 8:12PM; motion carried.
