Thunderstorms passing through the Aberdeen area have prompted the National Weather Service to issue a flash flood warning until 10:45 p.m. Thursday, July 30.
A flash flood warning has been issued for parts of Brown and Day counties, including Aberdeen.
The warning is in effect until 10:45 p.m. Thursday, July 30 for central Brown County and western Day County, according to the National Weather Service in Aberdeen. It was triggered by thunderstorms passing through the area.
Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have already fallen in some areas, per the weather service.
There could be flash-flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses, as well as poor-drainage and low-lying areas, according to the NWS.

Towns and places in the warning area include Aberdeen, Groton, Bath, Columbia, Westport, Putney, Tacoma Park, Sand Lake National Wildlife Refuge, Houghton, Barnard and Richmond Lake Recreation Area.
Observed flooding should be reported to local emergency services or law enforcement.
