SPECIAL BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING
JUNE 24, 2026
A special meeting of the Frederick Area Board of Education was called to order on June 24, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. by President Rich Schlosser. Members present were Rich Achen and Jon Ellwein; Alex Hart and Eric Sumption via phone. Others present were Superintendent/9-12 Principal/Athletic Director Jeff Kosters and Business Manager Shauna Severson; Guests present were Joel Sumption, Steph Sumption and others via zoom.
The meeting began with all present reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
2026-140 Motion by Ellwein, second by Achen to approve the agenda as presented. All voted Aye. Motion carried.
No conflict of interest disclosures.
2026-141 Motion by Ellwein, second by Hart to approve the Building Lease Agreement with Sumption Real Estate LLC. All voted Aye. Motion carried.
2026-142 Motion by Sumption, second by Ellwein to offer and approve contracts for the 2026-2027 school year: Katelyn Mehlhaff – MS/HS English and Jeff Kosters – Golf Coach. All voted Aye. Motion carried.
2026-143 Motion by Hart, second by Achen to approve the contract addendums for Jen Bagley – Bus Route Driver and Jeff Kosters – Superintendent. All voted Aye. Motion carried.
2026-144 Motion by Ellwein, second by Achen to adjourn at 10:14 a.m. All voted Aye. Motion carried.
