The final local HuntSafe course of 2025 is being hosted by the Sportsmen’s Club of Brown County with classes on July 16, 23 and 30.
The course is free, and the Wednesday night classes run from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the Terry O’Keefe Hunter Education Center at the Arnie Goldade Shooting Range along U.S. Highway 281 just south of Aberdeen. The classes are taught by volunteers certified with the South Dakota Department of Game, Fish & Parks.

HuntSafe is for anybody who wants to learn more about safely handling guns. The course is required for youth 12 and older and 11-year-olds who will turn 12 before Jan. 1, 2026, who want to hunt this fall.
