The Brown County Landfill’s free spring residential cleanup ends Saturday, May 13.
Batteries, furniture, appliances, electronics, scrap metal, rubble, miscellaneous waste, tires, shingles, paint, trees, grass, branches, waste oil, propane tanks and antifreeze can be taken to the landfill for free. There is a limit of four car or pickup tires.
Mobile homes and waste from large demolition projects, including shelter belts, will not be accepted. Fees will apply for commercial and business waste.
All loads taken to the landfill must be covered and secured, and motorists should get to the landfill by using asphalt roads, which means taking U.S. Highway 12 west out of Aberdeen. The landfill address is 13225 379th Ave.
The landfill is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.
