After reading the backstory about Aberdeen’s unsafe and unsanitary water, it’s hard to decide if a coverup, incompetence or a combination of both is at play here. My own guess is that it’s both.
All that is clear is the former water superintendent, Robert Braun, has absolutely no motive in lying. He quit in May — he wasn’t fired — at a city council meeting. In fact, he sounds like a frustrated whistleblower who wasn’t getting through.

As things stand now, it sounds like others at the water plant should quit in shame and any complicit elected officials be fired next Election Day.
