Low water pressure is possible starting Monday, June 12 as road work continues on North Dakota Street.
Repairs and improvements are planned for a large diameter water transmission line beginning Monday, according to a news release from the Aberdeen Public Works Department. Improvements will make it necessary to shut down a 16 inch transmission line that feeds the water tower near Northern State University in the southwest part of town.
Shutting down this line will make it difficult to supply the water needed to keep the towers full. Residents are asked to conserve water by eliminating excess water use, which includes watering the lawn starting Sunday, June 11 until Wednesday, June 14.
Reducing water consumption during this time will help preserve water for fire protection and domestic uses and will also help prevent residents from experiencing low water pressure. For more information, please contact the City of Aberdeen Public Works Department at 605-626-7010.
Road work begins Monday on Milwaukee Avenue
Road work is also expected to begin at 8 a.m. Monday on part of Milwaukee Avenue. This street will be closed from North Roosevelt Street to just west of the east entrance to Bethlehem Lutheran Church. The church’s west entrance will remain open. This road will remain closed until further notice to allow for pavement rehabilitation work.
