Ordway Township – Notice of Resolution No. 26-1


RESOLUTION NO. 26-1

A RESOLUTION TO ACKNOWLEDGE ROADS INTO ORDWAY TOWNSHIP

WHEREAS, The Ordway Township Board of Supervisors is responsible for the maintenance and protection of township road rights-of-way, and

WHEREAS, a publicly utilized road exists within the Ordway Township known as Hall Road which does not land on a section line but rather on a half-mile line within the Township lying between the following legally described properties:

The Northwest Quarter (NW1/4) and the Northeast Quarter (NE 1/4) of Section 31 Township 125, Range 63 North of 5th PM’

WHEREAS, The Board of Ordway Township believes it is in the best interests of the citizens of the Township for the Board to recognize the said Hall Road as an official Township Road and part of the Township Road System;

WHERESAS, the owners of the adjacent properties immediately abutting the road in question also believe it appropriate that the Township assume said Hall Road into the Township Road System as evidenced by their signatures on the Resolution below;

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Ordway Township in Brown County, South Dakota as follows:

That the entire Hall Road beginning from 124th Street and extending North to 123rd Street between the East half and the West half of Section 31 be acknowledged as an official road of the Ordway Township and that the North Half of said Hall Road, since the South Half has already been acknowledged to be part of the Township, is now acknowledged and adopted by the Ordway Township as a Township Road

The owners of the adjacent and immediately abutting properties of the North Half of the Hall Road do hereby, by signing below agree that the North Half of Hall Road shall be taken equally 33 feet from each property owner from the center line of the existing roadway and be dedicated to the public for purposes of a township road and right-of- way. The owners also, by signing below, certify that they are dually authorized to execute this document for the purposes contained herein.

The Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.

James Meyers moved to adopt the Resolution, Second by Kerry Howell, motion carried.

Adopted this 18 day of June, 2026 by the Ordway Board of Supervisors
