Pickup destroyed by fire on Jan. 4, no injuries reported

Aberdeen Fire & Rescue was called to a vehicle fire in the 300 block of East Melgaard Road at 4:45 p.m., according to a news release.

“The vehicle, a full-size a full-size pickup truck, was traveling eastbound when it reportedly experienced mechanical issues and subsequently became fully engulfed in flames. All occupants were able to exit the vehicle safely prior to fire department arrival. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was deemed a total loss,” according to the release.

That was the latest incident in what’s been a busy stretch for Aberdeen Fire & Rescue. Three residential fires were reported between Dec. 23 and Dec. 31.
