A top celebrity caught a few folks by surprise when he stopped by an Aberdeen convenience store this week.

Post Malone, one of the best-selling musicians in the U.S. today, was spotted in town on Monday, Nov. 17.

Ryan Ketterling, who grew up in Ellendale, N.D., attended Northern State University and now lives in Sioux Falls, said he met Malone Monday evening at the Circle K on the east side of town. Ketterling is a district manager for Circle K and said he was visiting the Aberdeen stores. He said he’s worked for the company for 15 years.

“I just happened to be visiting my store out by the airport when this whole situation happened. I walked by him and thought it was Post Malone. Pulled up a pic on my phone to confirm and then started a conversation with him. He is such a genuine person. I’ve heard that about him before, and I can attest to it. Just a normal, down-to-earth guy and seems to truly love on people. We chatted for five minutes, got a pic together and I moved on so the employees could talk to him and get pics. It was truly amazing,” Ketterling told The Aberdeen Insider via Facebook Messenger.

He posted the photo to his Facebook page on Monday night. In that post, Ketterling said he first noticed two nice black sport utility vehicles in front of the Circle K on the east side of town.

When Ketterling inquired, “Post Malone?,” he said he was greeted with, “Yes, sir!”

Also in the post, Ketterling said Malone gave him a side hug and said he was in the area to go pheasant hunting.
