Aberdeen streets to be plowed starting Saturday morning after snow alert


Aberdeen has called a snow alert and plans to begin plowing emergency routes at 6 a.m. on Saturday, April 1.

Plowing of north-south streets in Zone 2 and in all of Zone 3 begins at 7 a.m., with plowing of east-west avenues in Zone 2 starting at 1 p.m. Plowing of the downtown commercial district will start at 10 p.m.

Zones 2 includes most streets and avenues in the main part of the city. Zone 3 includes streets and avenues on the edges of town.

Plowing of all city parking lots will begin at 12:01 a.m. Monday, April 3.

Vehicles parked on the street after plowing begins in a zone until snow is removed from curb to curb are subject to ticketing and towing.

It is illegal to move snow into the street before or after streets are cleared except in the commercial zone, when it can be done only before Zone 1 is cleared.
