SPINK COUNTY EQUALIZATION
NOTICE OF DISABLED VETERAN PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTION APPLICATION DEADLINE NOVEMBER 1, 2025
Who is eligible? To be Eligible for the exemption the following criteria must be met:
- The property must be owned and occupied by the disabled vet or unremarried surviving spouse.
- The property must be classified as owner occupied.
- The veteran must be rated as permanently and totally disabled as the result of a service rated disability. (Surviving spouse of permanently & totally disabled vet also qualifies.)
Application must be made to the Director of Equalization on or before November 1, 2025, of the first year the exemption is requested. If you have applied in the past and been denied and still live in your own home, please reapply. If you have questions, contact the Director of Equalization at 472-4585 or the local Veteran Service Officer at 472-4589.
Flooded Land Applications are due November 1, 2025
Flooded land applications are available at the Spink County Equalization office or on the Spink County web site www.spinkcounty-sd.org. The applications are due back by November 1, 2025. If you have any questions, please call 472-4585.
