United Way of Northeastern South Dakota sets $800,000 campaign goal

The United Way of Northeastern South Dakota has started its 2025-26 Community Giving Campaign.

This year’s goal is to raise $800,000 to help fund various agencies and service providers in the area.

Bob and Kila LeGrand are this year’s campaign advocates. Bob works at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital, while Kila is employed at Sanford Aberdeen Medical Center.

“Bob and Kila model compassion and love for our community not just in their family, but in their work as well,” according to information from United Way.

“Having worked in the health care profession for over 20 years in the (northeast South Dakota) region, we’ve had the privilege of caring for our neighbors, raising our sons in this community and witnessing firsthand the generosity and resilience that define it. We’ve also seen the growing needs across our communities. Needs that can only be met through the compassion and support of others. United Way plays a vital role by supporting more than 20 local agencies that serve individuals and families every day. We are proud to support United Way and look forward to helping make a meaningful impact together,” the LeGrands said in a statement.
