Warner, Northwestern in top three of Class B preseason volleyball poll

Warner and Northwestern are in the top three of the preseason South Dakota media Class B high school volleyball poll.

The Monarchs are No. 2, while Northwestern is third.

Defending state champion Chester, which upended Warner in five sets in last year’s title match, is atop the poll with 10 first-place votes. Warner, which finished last season 39-1, got two first-place votes.

The Wildcats finished last season with 27-9 mark, losing to Hitchcock-Tulare in Region 1B play.

Central, Roncalli receiving votes in AA, A polls

Aberdeen Central is receiving votes in the Class AA poll. Harrisburg is the top-ranked team.

The Golden Eagles were 14-14 last season and finished eighth at the state tournament.

Aberdeen Roncalli received a vote in the Class A poll after finishing 20-6 last season. Sioux Falls Christian is No. 1.

The Cavaliers lost to Dakota Valley in the SoDak 16 last year.
