Weather: Plows again head out in Aberdeen


Plowing of streets in Aberdeen has already begun thanks to another layer of snow.

Clearing along emergency snow routes began at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1. The rest of the plowing schedule follows.

  • Plowing of the north-south streets in Zone 2 and all of the streets and avenues in Zone 3 began at 8 a.m. Wednesday.
  • Plowing of east-west avenues in Zone 2 will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
  • Plowing of the downtown commercial area, Zone 1, will begin at 10 p.m. on Wednesday.
  • Plowing of city parking lots in Zone 1 will begin at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, March 3.

Zones Two includes a large portion of the city. Zone three includes most streets on the edges of town.

Vehicles parked on city streets from the time plowing is scheduled to begin until a street is cleared from curb to curb are subject to being ticketed and towed. It is illegal to move snow into the street before or after plowing except in the downtown core area, when it. is allowed before plowing.
