Webster voters reject bond for armory addition


Voters in the Webster school district have rejected a proposed $12.5 million bond to expand the local armory.

According to unofficial results from the school, 42% of voters in the district turned out for the Tuesday, Nov. 4 vote with 682 opposed and 421 favoring the proposal.

The Webster Area School District was seeking the 21,000-square-foot addition to expand the armory with a regulation-size gym, weight room, second-floor wrestling room, training room, locker room and officials room. The proposal also included updates to the building’s mechanical, electrical and heating systems.
