An Aberdeen man was sentenced to 15 years in prison in connection to two charges of felony possession, manufacturing or distribution of child pornography.
The charges alleged that between October and December 2020. According to court records, Dylan M. Nelson, 38, was found with pornographic images of minors following a search of multiple Google accounts in his name.
During a recent hearing at the Brown County Courthouse, Nelson was sentenced on each count and admitted to being a habitual offender with a prior felony conviction, per the court paperwork. Being a habitual offender can increase the maximum penalty at sentencing.
The prison terms will be served concurrently, and Nelson was given credit for 343 days served on each count. He was fined $233.
Brown County man enters not guilty plea to rape charge in Brookings County
Sea Z. Atwood, 52, of Aberdeen entered a not guilty plea to a charge of rape in Brookings County.
He also posted a $15,000 cash bond, according to court paperwork.
Atwood was arrested in March after, according to a news release from Brookings police, a 37-year-old Brookings woman claimed he groped her and stuck his hand down her pants during an inspection of her home.
A trial has been set for July 27, according to court records. The rape charge is a felony with a maximum sentence of 50 years in prison.

He was sentenced to three years in prison with two years and eight months suspended and given credit for 60 days served. He was fined $2,797.
- Tasha Luce, 34, Aberdeen, pleaded guilty to felony possession of methamphetamine. She was sentenced to five years in prison with four years suspended and fined $1,117.
- Chad S. Bremmon, 53, Aberdeen, pleaded guilty to felony ingestion of methamphetamine. He was sentenced to five years in prison with credit for 209 days served and ordered to pay $312 in fines and court costs.
- Sean P. Lone, 34, Aberdeen, pleaded guilty to felony third-offense driving under the influence. He received a five-year suspended prison sentence and was placed on probation for two years. He was also fined $1,276 and had his driver’s license revoked for one year.
- Kenna M. Bridwell, 37, Aberdeen, pleaded guilty to felony possession of methamphetamine. She received a five-year suspended prison sentence and was placed on probation for two years. She was also fined $1,117.
- Jennie M. Dubray, 30, of Aberdeen, pleaded guilty to felony fourth-offense driving under the influence. She received a five-year suspended prison term and was placed on probation for three years. She also had her driver’s license revoked for one year and was fined $1,277.
