Guest speaker at this year’s annual awards banquet and fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club of Aberdeen Area is former football player Daunte Culpepper.
The banquet is Feb. 10 at 6:30 p.m. a the Dakota Event Center. Tickets are $65 each of $500 for a table of eight, according to information released by the Boys and Girls Club.
Culpepper is a former Miami Dolphin, Oakland Raider, Detroit Lion and Minnesota Viking. He played college football at eh University of Central Florida and was a first-round draft pick by the Vikings in 1999
Culpepper was a three-time Pro Bowl selection during his seven seasons with the Vikings with his most successful season in 2004 when he set the single-season record for the most total yards produced by an NFL quarterback. The following season he suffered a serious knee injury which ended his career with the Vikings. He went on to play with the Dolphins, Raiders and the Lions and finished his career with the Sacramento Mountain Lions of the United Football League.
This is a fundraising event including several ways to support area youth programming throughout the night.
