A building permit has been issued for a Dollar General store in Aberdeen, but a final decision has yet to be made on construction.
The $1.39 million permit is for a building at 600 N. U.S. Highway 281, which on the west end of town.
According to Dollar General Corporation Public Relations the company is in a “due diligence” phase for a new Dollar General in Aberdeen. According to a statement, the company is reviewing the opportunity to add a store in Brown County, but has yet to commit to the project. A final decision is expected by late fall.
Several Dollar General stores have been built in surrounding communities in recent years.
