Some Christmas travelers likely extended their stays a day after the first winter storm of the season hit Aberdeen.
A combination of snow, rain, slush and ice made travel difficult on Monday, Dec. 25 and Tuesday, Dec. 26.
Aberdeen was spared any major damage, but there were power outages reported in other parts of the region.
Katherine King, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Aberdeen, said the office received reports of some downed branches and tree limbs in town. A streetlight was knocked down in Faulkton, she said.
In Aberdeen, gusts reached 50 mph Monday as the storm passed through.
FEM Electric reported about 10 power poles and numerous lines down north of Ipswich. In rural parts of Dickey County in North Dakota, more homes were without power than had it Tuesday morning, according to information from the Dickey County Emergency Management Office.

Tuesday: 0.69 inch of rain, 0.3 inch of snow.
Monday: 0.75 inch of rain, 2.4 inches of snow.
Sunday, Dec. 24: 0.39 inch of rain, 2.3 inches of snow.
Saturday, Dec. 23: 0.02 inch of rain. 0.2 inch of snow.
