A man died in an accident at Agtegra’s Roscoe facility on Thursday, March 28.
Edmunds County Sheriff Jonathan Waldner confirmed there was a fatality resulting from an incident shortly after 10 a.m.
Kyle Couchey, Edmunds County coroner, said the accident happened while a 52-year-old male employee was working with a grain conveyor.
“(Thursday) morning, the Agtegra Cooperative family suffered a tragic loss of an employee at our Roscoe location. Agtegra Cooperative is devastated by this tragedy and is sending our thoughts and prayers to the employee’s family, friends, coworkers and community,” Agtegra Cooperative CEO Jason Klootwyk said in a statement.
The Aberdeen-based agricultural cooperative also expressed its appreciation to the first responders and community members who helped after the accident.
“Our team continues to work with local authorities and is in the process of conducting a thorough investigation,” Klootwyk said in his statement.
